Welcome to Hillcrest & Mission Hills
A genuine connection to community is the foundation for Hillcrest and Mission Hills. These walkable, well-designed neighborhoods, and their modern, authentic surroundings, make them premiere districts for San Diego living.
Hillcrest boasts a resident-friendly environment through independent shops, stylish thrift stores, and delightful cafes and restaurants. Lined with trees, the streets wind through neighborhoods that showcase beautiful Craftsman and Mid-Century Modern homes. Enjoy Better Buzz Coffee, a creative java shop known for its specialty and crafted blends. When the occasion calls for a classy atmosphere, visit Rare Society, a neighborhood steakhouse serving Lobster, Shrimp Risotto and Oysters on the Half Shell. Every Sunday morning Hillcrest hosts a Farmers Market where patrons can experience an international food court and purchase fresh produce. Balboa Park acts as this district’s southern border, bringing the warmth of community to you.
A few streets to the west, the Mission Hills neighborhood will greet you with Craftsman Bungalows and Spanish Colonial architecture. This upscale district offers two historic districts that preserve the character of Mission Hills. The Old Town Market entertains patrons with over 40 unique shops, live music, and artwork that pays homage to Old Town’s vast history. La Vecindad Neighborhood Tacos is a fun, family-friendly restaurant that serves overflowing tacos. Washington Street Skate Park was designed to keep the creative spirit of California alive and well in the next generation.
If commuting outside these districts is a must, Interstates 8 and 5 are close, but not too close.
