Carlsbad is a haven for food lovers with establishments like Bob’s Steak and Chop House, a steakhouse recognized for its flavorful, hand-selected steaks; and Casero Taqueria, an authentic Mexican restaurant, serving dishes like Pollo Asado Burritos and Veggie Tacos. Carlsbad is divided into four quadrants with each one offering something of its own. The northwest quadrant is home to Old Carlsbad, a well-preserved area where you can find antique shops and specialty stores. The northeast quadrant is the site of an extinct volcano called Mount Calavera. In the southeast quadrant, you’ll find hillside master-planned communities and first-rate golf courses. The southwest quadrant hosts Legoland California along with the park’s resort and aquarium.
Tamarack Beach welcomes everyone; offers surfing, kayaking, and windsurfing; and is a prime location to watch the sun melt into the Pacific Ocean. A few miles away, South Carlsbad State Beach is a protected coastline that boasts white sand and warm water.
Interstate 5 runs north and south through this laid-back district, making accessibility just as easy as the lifestyle.
